How to use the Fable Engage video clipping tool

Highlight and share key insights from tester feedback videos with the Fable Engage video clipping tool.

The video clipping tool is only available for the three request types that support video recordings:

How to create a video clip

The clipping tool will be available once the request is complete and the video recording is ready.

  1. Under the video, select Create clip.
  2. Select the portion of the video you want to clip
  3. Name the clip you selected.
  4. (Optional) Write a description of the clip.
  5. Save the clip. The clip will be added to the request’s Video files.

If you need to make a change or delete the clip:

  1. Find and select the clip from the request’s Video files.
  2. Select Option then Edit or Delete.

View all the video clips from one project

On the Project page, in the Clips tab, you can view all clips created within the project.

Sharing video clips

Can video clips be shared publicly?

Any internal company sharing is allowed. The share buttons located in the Video files section lets you send video links to anyone in your organization.

You can also download clips from the Video list. Downloaded videos can be shared within an organization and with anyone working for the organization (e.g. vendors or contractors.)

Note: Downloaded videos cannot be shared with customers or the public without a media release form.

Sharing video clips with Figma

You can add clips or videos to Figma files and FigJam boards via the Fable Insight Annotations Figma widget.

  1. In Fable Engage, find the clip you want to add
  2. Select Share and copy the shareable link
  3. In Figma or FigJam, in the Fable widget select the Add video clip and paste the shareable link into the Video clip field.

Sharing video clips with Jira

You can create a Jira ticket directly from a video clip, via Fable’s Jira integration.

  1. In Fable Engage, find the clip you want to add to Jira
  2. Select Create Jira ticket
  3. Once selected, you will be prompted to select the required Jira information, and then the ticket will be created for you.
  4. Once the ticket is created, it will be include a link to the video clip in Fable Engage.
