QA sessions

A QA Session is a video-based meeting with an expert screen reader user. These testers have advanced proficiency with their screen reader and their ability to communicate feedback. User Interviews can help identify new issues, while QA Sessions help you work through known issues.

Solve problems together. Meet with an expert screen reader user to rapidly evaluate a product and give you suggestions.

When to use a QA Session

You should request a QA Session if you’re looking to:

  • Reproduce a customer complaint.
  • Rapidly evaluate a product and get suggestions on why something’s not working.
  • Work collaboratively to ideate on how to improve accessibility and usability for known issues.
  • Follow up on screen reader feedback from a Compatibility Test.

How to create a QA Session

Request a QA Session by selecting the New Request button when logged in to Fable Engage. All requests need to live within a project. Select an existing project or create a new one.

You will need to know:

  • What you’d like to learn. Enter a description to provide context for the tester.
    • You do not need to share your interview script in advance.
  • When you’d like to meet. Enter your date and time options.
    • If you’re not ready to schedule a date and time yet, choose any time and save for later.
    • Please choose a date and time that is at least 48 hours in the future.
  • How the tester will access your product.
    • Provide all live links that you plan on using during the session.
    • Provide login details, if needed, by selecting an existing environment or creating a new environment.

Save for later or publish your request right away.

What to expect after a QA Session

After you’ve published your QA Session:

  • Our moderators will review your request before it’s released to testers. We’ll contact you if anything needs adjusting.
  • When a tester has been scheduled for your request, you will receive an email with the calendar invitation and a Zoom link.
  • The full video recording and transcription will show on your dashboard after the session.

After you’ve reviewed your results, you can:

  • Create video clips to share out with others.
  • Apply updates based on the tester’s feedback.
  • Validate your fixes with a Compatibility Test.
