Fable’s Cognitive Accessibility Working Group
Fable is dedicated to defining standards and methodologies for incorporating individuals with cognitive accessibility needs throughout the product development life cycle. Our Cognitive Accessibility Working Group is a group of individuals passionate about inclusion. This group aims to harmonize the needs of digital teams with those of participants.
Fable’s previous work on methodologies includes the Accessible Usability Scale (AUS) and Compatibility Tests.

Our current focus
There are two task forces within the working group, each with a specific focus to drive progress in cognitive accessibility.
1. Participants task force
The Participants task force will develop strategies to recruit and organize research participants while ensuring that our approach to informed consent works for various cognitive needs.
2. Methodologies task force
The Methodologies task force will conduct an in-depth literature review of user research methods for engaging with participants with cognitive disabilities. They will also contribute best practices based on their own research experiences.
