Voice Control was originally introduced by Apple in 2009 as an alternative form or navigation on Apple products. Voice Control has evolved over time, but currently allows users to use their voice to tap, swipe, and type to navigate across Apple products. Voice Control uses Speech-to-text transcription to both understand and transcribe speech. Voice control allows for alternative navigation by enabling users to access all parts of the screen by saying element names and numbers, using the grid overlay, and using Voice to mimic Hand gestures like tap, double tap, and scroll to navigate.
