Accessibility Training
Fable offers “introduction to accessibility” bootcamps and role-based digital accessibility training for organizations and digital professionals.
Fable’s main differentiator is the involvement of people with disabilities. You’ll learn from the experts – real users.
Most accessibility training focuses on understanding compliance guidelines. Instead, we focus on understanding assistive technology and embedding accessibility into the way you work.
Introduction to accessibility
Our flagship training workshop includes:
- Different ways to think and speak about disability
- Direct learning from people with disabilities
- Demonstrations of how assistive technologies work on different sites and apps
Details:
- Half-day session optimized for entire digital teams
- Creates awareness and empathy setting a foundation for future role-based learning
Role-based training
What a developer needs to know about and do for accessibility is different from a designer, researcher, QA tester and other team members. Mobile accessibility is different from web accessibility.
Learn only what’s relevant to your role and technology. Participate in hands-on exercises to give you the confidence to apply what you learn.
Fable helps organizations ensure accessibility is part of onboarding by providing easy access to regularly scheduled training sessions.
We also offer training on how to leverage Fable’s platform and drive change within an organization for accessibility leaders.
Online learning platform
Online learning can be hard, and learning about accessibility can be hard. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
With a combination of high quality video lessons, demonstrations, reading materials, and practise activities housed in Fable’s online learning management system, you can offer role-based digital accessibility training to your employees and contractors, on-demand.
With this approach, you increase your team’s capacity to build and ship accessible products and operationalize accessibility efforts. Throughout the training, your team will feel inspired and capable of incorporating accessibility into their work right away.
Accessibility Audits
Is your team constantly chasing accessibility compliance and never reaching it?
Powered by people with disabilities, our usability audits give you insights into real world accessibility barriers for assistive technology users. Stop measuring success as compliance with a set of standards and start measuring usability for people with disabilities.
How Audits Work
This is how our audits work:
- We identify key tasks that assistive technology users should be able to complete
- We test each task with five users on desktop and/or mobile devices
- We compile user’s feedback and support it with videos if needed
- We relate user issues to compliance requirements (based on WCAG)
- We share a report on the findings with your team
